SHINDO is made by Meta Studios Creative Agency KK, a small studio in Tokyo. We are filmmakers and makers first, which is why the app looks the way it does — and why we take the information in it as seriously as we take the design.
True: every number in SHINDO comes from a named public source — we do not estimate, simulate or decorate. Fast: our server in Tokyo relays JMA within seconds. Calm: the app rates events for where you are, so you are not trained to ignore it.
Millions of residents and visitors do not read Japanese quickly enough to act on a government broadcast. SHINDO speaks English, Japanese and Spanish natively, from the first alert to the AI explanation that follows it.
