Email support@shindoalert.com and we reply within two business days. For anything urgent during a disaster, follow the instructions of local authorities — SHINDO is an information tool, not an emergency service.
Open iOS Settings → Notifications → SHINDO and allow notifications, then allow Critical Alerts when SHINDO asks — this is what lets a warning sound through Silent and Focus modes. In SHINDO, check Settings → Notifications to confirm your alert threshold and that your location is set. Early warnings are only issued by JMA when it forecasts intensity 5-lower or more somewhere in Japan.
SHINDO applies JMA's forecast for your prefecture. Large prefectures can be warned for one coast while the other is quiet; we are working on finer sub-prefecture zones. You can lower the sound tier for banner-only alerts in Settings → Notifications.
Settings → Smart Lights → Connect Hue. You will sign in to your Philips Hue account and approve SHINDO; the link lets our server flash your lights during a warning even when your phone is asleep. You can revoke it any time from the same screen or from your Hue account.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SHINDO. Cancelling stops renewal at the end of the current period; Apple handles refunds under its own policy.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. If you cannot open the app, follow the steps on Delete your account.
Make sure the node is powered (status LED on) and within a metre of your phone, then open the LoRa tab and tap Add node. If it still does not appear, hold the node's power button for ten seconds to restart it. For firmware updates and the flashing guide, see the Node page.
If SHINDO displayed something that did not match the official source — a warning that was missing, late, or wrong for your area — please tell us the time, your area and what you saw. We investigate every report and publish what we find in our field notes.
